Paula's Birds Nest

Nearly Perfect!!

When we learned that the Islander would not be ready for Rusty Scupper, we started searching for a new place to stay. Just happened to stumble on this one. There were two couples in our group, and this was an excellent choice. The apartment is large enough to move around in without banging into each other. It really only gets crowded in the kitchen, so I stayed out. The view from the balcony is spectacular! Even in crummy weather, cuz you can watch the weather come in off the ocean, When we first walked in, the apartment was spotless. The kitched is fully stocked with dishes, cooking equipment, and silverware for the number of people that are going to be staying. There is a Kuerig coffe maker, a microvave, dishwasher, fridge, and full stove/oven. Bring your own food, condiments, coffee pods, etc. Pretty much the same story for the bathroom. It is stocked like a hotel room, but you need to bring youur own bathroom stuff...soap, shampoo, etc. Likw the kitchen, the bath linens are supplied to accomidate the number of guests. We also brought our own bath towels. I found very few issues with the place. They are: The outlet inside the sliding door is evidently dead. At least we couldn't get it to work. No amound of switch-flipping helped. Since niether I nor the other guy brought our tools, we couldn't meter it (we're both retired electricians). In order to provide adequate weather protection, the cover on the outside outlet needs to be hinged on the top. This can be done easily without disturbing the outlet itself. A screen door on the balcony door would be nice. The room with the queen bed was apparently stuffy. There was no fan in there for that couple to use. We had one in our room, so it wasn't bad. An opening window in the batroom would be welcome. The fan works well, but fresh air would be good. Overhead lights in the bedrooms would be very helpful. The single bedside lamp is not really enough. Admittedly, a lot of these are a bit of nit-picking, but I think they are all good ideas. They are not necessary for anyone to enjoy their stay here. We liked it so much, we have already reserved it for next yer. – Mark, Olalla
